Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides clear, easy to learn techniques to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied Italian cooking traditions as well as the surroundings. Also, she was a contestant in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of cooking and food at a young age. Her passion was for the industry of restaurant management by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic learning experience for me. There was no way to be able to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. When I graduated, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing obstacles. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes education about young-onset diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor as well as public speaker in which she speaks about her professional life and the joy of cooking.
